Terms and Conditions

                                                                                 VELOCITY ENTERPRISES LIMITED TRADING AS BUBBLE RENTALS. 

These Terms & Conditions govern your rental agreement with us. Please read them carefully before signing the Rental Agreement. By renting a vehicle from VELOCITY ENTERPRISES LIMITED TRADING AS BUBBLE RENTALS, you acknowledge and agree to these terms.

• Agreement to Terms

  This Rental Agreement ("Agreement") is between VELOCITY ENTERPRISES LIMITED TRADING AS BUBBLE RENTALS ("Company", "we", "us", "our") and the individual or entity renting the vehicle ("Hirer", "you", "your").

  By signing this Agreement or accepting the vehicle, you agree to comply with:

  • These Terms & Conditions.
  • New Zealand road laws and regulations.
  • Any additional terms specified in your rental contract.

  We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time. The latest version will always be available on our website or upon request.

• Driver Licence: You (and anyone else planning to drive the hire vehicle) must have a current and valid driver licence for the type of vehicle you are hiring.If your driver licence was not issued in New Zealand and is not in English, you will also need an accurate translation.                                                                                                                 
• The Vehicle Conditions: The vehicle you hire must be in a safe and road worthy condition when you pick it up. If you have any concerns about the vehicle, discuss it with one of our representatives before you hire the vehicle.                                                                                                                                                                                                       
• Certificate Of Loading: The Bubble Rentals will provide you a copy of your rental agreement, which you must keep in the vehicle throughout the hire term. If an enforcement officer asks to see it, you must show it to them straight away.                                                                                                                                                                                                                            
• Definitions:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  
  • Hirer: The person or business renting the vehicle.
  • Company: VELOCITY ENTERPRISES LIMITED TRADING AS BUBBLE RENTALS.
  • Vehicle: The rental car, including all parts, accessories, and documentation.
  • Rental Period: The agreed duration for which the Hirer has the vehicle.
  • Insurance Cover: The level of coverage selected by the Hirer.                                                                                                                                                                                                                          
• Driver Requirements:

  To rent a vehicle from Bubble Rentals, the Hirer and any authorized driver must meet the following requirements:

  3.1 Age Restrictions, Deductibles and Excesses (Additional Underage and Inexperienced Driver Excesses):

  • Driver aged over 25 years who have held a licence for less than 1 year, excess would be $1000
  • Drivers aged 21 up to 25 years, excess would be $1000
  • Drivers aged under 21 years, excess would be $2000 with an additional of $20 per day (At the Vehicle Pick Up Time)
  • No maximum age limit, but drivers over 75 years old may be required to provide a medical certificate confirming fitness to drive.

  3.2 Driver’s License:

  • A valid, full driver’s license is required.
  • Licenses not in English must be accompanied by an International Driving Permit (IDP) or an official translation approved by NZTA.
  • The license must have been held for at least 12 months.
  • Only named drivers listed on the rental agreement may drive the vehicle. Other than listed drivers are STRICTLY NOT ALLOWED to drive the rental vehicle.

  • Cancellation policy:

    • More than 3 days before pickup: Full refund.
    • 1 day before pickup: 50% refund.
    • Same-day cancellation or no-show: No refund.
    • Please contact us for BOOKING CANCELLATION AND AMENDMENDS.                                                                                                                                                                                                                      
• Payment & Security Deposit:

  4.1 Payment Terms:

  • Rental charges must be paid in full at the time of booking or pickup.
  • We accept Visa, MasterCard, Union Pay, American Express, Credit and debit cards.
  • Cash payments.

  4.2 Security Bond (Refundable Deposit):

  A security bond (Pre-Authorization hold) is required on the Hirer’s credit/debit card. The bond amount depends on the insurance cover selected:

  • Basic Cover: $1000 security bond.
  • Standard Cover: $500 security bond.
  • Premium Cover: $250 security bond.

  The bond is not a charge, but a hold placed on your credit/debit card. It will be released within 10 business days after returning the vehicle in the same condition.

• Insurance & Liability:

  Bubble Car Rentals provides different insurance options:

  5.1 Insurance Exclusions – When You Are Fully Liable:

  Insurance will not cover the following, and the Hirer will be fully responsible for all repair costs:

  • Driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication.
  • Reckless, careless, or dangerous driving (e.g., racing, drifting).
  • Driving on restricted roads, including: 
    • Unsealed gravel roads.
    • Beaches (e.g., Ninety Mile Beach).
    • Ski field access roads
    • Driving in any manner that violates the NZTA road code or NZ traffic Laws.
  • Damage caused by using the wrong fuel (e.g., petrol in a diesel car).
  • Lost, stolen, or damaged keys ($500 replacement fee).
  • Any damage occurring outside New Zealand.                                                                                                                                                                                                                              
• Fuel Policy:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  
  • Vehicles are supplied with a full tank of fuel.
  • The Hirer must return the vehicle with the same fuel level.
  • If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, a $50 refuelling fee + cost of fuel will be charge.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Other Extra Charges and Fees:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            
  • Vaping and Smoking: If we believe that any of the person has vaped or smoked inside or around the vehicle, the Bubble Rentals will charge the hirer a fee of $250.
  • Animal/Pet charges: If we believe the animal/pets have been in the vehicle, the Bubble Rentals will charge the hirer a fee of $250.                                                           
  • Cleaning charges: If the vehicle is returned in a dirty condition and not in the tidy condition, the Bubble Rentals will charge the hirer a fee of $250.                                                          
• Roadside Assistance 24/7:

  7.1 24/7 Roadside Assistance and Mechanical Issues and Damages:

  The vehicle is covered road side assistance for 24 hours and 7 days at the cost of the hirer. If the hirer has selected the Premium Cover than the cost of the road side assistance is included. The hirer must take fully responsibility to check and maintained the vehicle properly during the hire duration.It includes daily check of Oil, Water and Battery. If the vehicle has any mechanical faults during the duration/hire, the mechanical must be reported to Bubble Rentals ASAP. The Hirer is not ENTITLED to any REFUND, the hirer must advised to the Bubble Rentals and provide the opportunity to rectify the situation.

• 7.2 Chargeable Roadside Assistance (NZ$250 per call-out):

• If the hirer has selected the Basic or Standard cover:

  The following situations will incur a charge of NZ$250 per call-out:

  • Flat battery due to lights, doors or other electronics left on.
  • Locked keys inside the vehicle/Lost keys.
  • Running out of fuel or wrong fuel in th tank.
  • Anything else related to Driver/Hirer mistakes, accidents etc.
  • If the vehicle is required to be towed, any of the above situations will incur but not limited to, the hirer will be liable the cost of towing the vehicles and send it to one of our recommended provider or any address.
  • If the road side assistance/tow is required only due to mechanical breakdown, the per call out/service charges will be covered by Bubble rentals.                                      
  • Infringement Offences and Fees:                                                                                                                                                                                                                   
  • The hirer/driver will be liable for the following infringement offences carry out/committed during the hire.                                                                                                 
  • Speeding offence 
  • Parking offence (issued by the Council, Police, Private Parking Companies but not limited to).
  • Bus lane or Transit lane offence (issued by the Council Cameras, Council Representatives, Police but not limited to).
  • Toll offence
  • Any offence under section 20(1) of the Freedom Camping Act 2001.
  • An offence against Part 6 of the Land Transport Rule 2004 (Road User).
  • If the Hirer/Driver commit an infringement offences, the hrer/driver must pay any infringement fees and administration fees.
  • The Bubble Rentals will charge the Hirer/Driver the infringement transferring administration fees of $50.
  • The Hirer/Driver must be liable to pay the administration fees, legal fees, bank charges and agency fees.
  • If the Hirer/Driver will not pay any extra charges, 24/7 Road side Assistance, infringement offences and other charges related to hire the vehicle, the Bubble Rentals reserve the right to refer your account to a debt collection agency but not limited to.

  7.3 Breakdown Protocol:

  In the event of a breakdown, the Hirer must immediately contact Bubble Rentals. Any repairs carried out without prior approval from Bubble Rentals will be the Hirer’s responsibility.

  • Downtime charges will only be refunded if the breakdown is due to mechanical failure and not caused by the Hirer.                                                                                   
• Governing Law:

  These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes shall be resolved in a New Zealand court.
